The Chase fans left in stitches after one contestant was left red-faced after made an embarrassing TV error.
During Friday’s (April 15) instalment of the popular ITV gameshow, Bradley Walsh welcomed back four new contestants as they battled it out to take home the enviable cash prize.
As viewers tuned in for the primetime quiz show, the former Coronation Street star introduced Mark Labbett, otherwise known as The Beast, onto the show as the episode’s Chaser.
And it’s fair to say the TV star was on fire as he quickly knocked one of the four players out of the competition within the first round.
But fans of the show were hopeful when budding contestant Andrew stepped up to the podium to test his general knowledge against the professional quizzer.
After the blonde hunk racked in a healthy £5,000 into the jackpot, he faced the TV giant where the 29-year-old made a grave error with one particular question as he crumbled under the pressure.
Bradders asked: “In the ‘70s, which footballer opened the Manchester nightclub ‘Slack Alice’s’?”
It was at this point that his previously calm and collected demeaner fell apart as he incorrectly selected option C: Bobby Charlton.
Shocked at his response the Mark turned to him in shock as he muttered: “You’re way too young” before the TV host informed him the correct answer was George Best.
Mark added: “He famous had a better time off the pitch than on it” as the trio chuckled at his misfortune.
Fans soon flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts at his hilarious TV blunder online.
One user penned: “Somebody shoot this idiot. F**king Bobby Charlton!?? Deary me. #thechase.”
Another added: “Bobby Charlton … Lord help us !!@ #thechase” as a third asked: “Did he really put Bobby Charlton?! #thechase.”
