The Chase's Darragh Ennis unrecognisable as he slips on grey wig and bushy brows

The Chase star Darragh Ennis dressed up as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland as part of Christmas Day’s celebrity special.

Darragh stepped out to face Coronation Street’s Sair Khan, who plays Alya Nazir in the ITV soap.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their shock at how unrecognisable the Chaser looked, in comparison to his usual outfit for the regular show.

“Darragh fits the Mad Hatter just perfectly,” one wrote.

Another tagged Darragh’s Twitter account, writing: “Darragh as the mad hatter love it.”

“Darrahg looking very festive in his outfit,” a third added.

Darragh looked completely different

Darragh donner bushy eyebrows, a moustache and a pointed beard and threw on a grey wig and an elaborate top hat on top to fully embody the extravagant character once played by Johnny Depp in the Hollywood movie.

Unfortunately for Sair, she was caught by the Chaser and eliminated from the competition, losing her money consequently.

This Morning’s Dr Zoe Williams took to the table next, competing against Paul Sinha, aka The Sinnerman, who dressed up as the white rabbit from the popular children’s story.

Danny O’Carroll from BBC’s Mrs Brown’s Boys competed against Sean Walsh who went to town with his costume as the Cheshire Cat. Despite a shaky start, Danny managed to outrun the Chaser, taking £1,000 back to the prize fund.

The singer who rose to fame after her 1997 This Morning performance took off her heels as she took on Mark Labbett, dressed as Alice in a blonde wig and blue dress, for a whopping £92,000.
