The Chase's Mark Labbett reveals insight into staggering 10 stone weight loss

The Chase legend Mark Labbett has shared the secret to his dramatic 10-stone weight loss after ditching two foods from his diet.

Mark, 57, looks dramatically different to when he first graced the screens as The Beast on the popular ITV gaming show.

Over the years, he’s undergone an impressive change and looks barely recognisable and is often flooded with gushing compliments from his legion of social media followers.

The dad-of-one recently took to his Instagram page, sharing a snap of himself as he urged fans to vote for the quiz show at the upcoming National Television Awards and was flooded with compliments.

“My goodness looking good Mark,” said one alongside a string of heart-eye emojis.

A second went on to say: “Looking great Mark!”

“Blimey Mark didn’t recognise you, amazing!” exclaimed a third.

While another fan commented: “Wow… It’s the incredible shrinking Mark.”

Another doting follower went on to gush: “Gosh you’ve lost some weight Mark, well done.”

It’s been reported that Mark claimed he was 29 stone while working as a full-time teacher before becoming a household name.

The star was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2016 and was forced to go through a dramatic lifestyle overhaul to prevent his health from deteriorating.

Mark initially started losing weight during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020 but had managed to lose around three stone prior to the lockdown period.

Speaking on Loose Women, he said: “The principal thing is running around after a hyperactive toddler when nurseries have been shut, how do you keep up with them?

He later explained that he lost several inches on his waist by eating a diet rich in protein and also cutting back on boozing.

“I’m on a high protein diet, so eating an awful lot of meat and lean meat,” he said before adding: “As much as I love chips and other carbs, I’m having quite a bit less than I used to.

“It’s sort of become a virtuous cycle, I’m not feeling that hungry, so you eat less, so you lose weight, so you’re not as hungry.”
