Destiny Child’s singer Michelle Williams revealed she changed her voice in order to prolong her time on The Masked Singer.
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, the 42 year old, who has starred in both the US and UK versions of the popular show, said she didn’t want to sound that good in order to conceal who she was.
She also revealed that she had other tactics up her sleeve but didn’t want to disclose them just in case other celebs caught on.
Speaking about her strategies presenter Holly Willoughby said: “You were the first person ever to do both shows actually but you learned a lot which you bought over here.
She added: “They guessed who you were in the US, over here there were so many incredible female vocal names, not yours.
“But you were crafty, you started to change your voice a little bit,” she added.
Michelle replied: “I did. With the US version, I was so concentrating on my vocal performance.
“You know, ‘sound good’. You know ‘give them what you got’.
“But on the UK version I was like if you want to stay a little longer, I had some tricks up my sleeve.”
Intrigued by her admission, presenter Alison Hammond asked: “How did you do it?
“Did you change your tone or something like that?”
Holding back on the details, Michelle said: “If I tell you then the other contestants will want to know my strategy.”
Trying to get the top-secret out of her Alison joked that she is also a professional singer, but Michelle failed to reveal all.
Alison said: “Well the thing is Michelle, I’m a professional singer so I kind of know what you probably did, but I was trying to confirm it up.”
Singer Michelle explained she was more than happy to part in the UK version of The Masked Singer due to her love for the show and her love for the British audience.
