Fans of The Masked Singer have been scrambling their brains to uncover the identity of the final three characters on the show – but a vocal expert might have finally exposed the celebs behind the mask.
The nation’s favourite ITV guessing game, hosted by stand-up comic Joel Dommett, returned to screens last month with the third instalment of the popular Korean-inspired talent show.
The hit show sees masked stars dress up in elaborate costumes as they sing their hearts out on stage while trying to fool the public by keeping their true identity a secret.
Most recently, Traffic Cone was finally revealed to be Welsh opera singer Aled Jones shortly followed by Rockhopper who was unmasked as none other than Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams.
With just one week left to put in their final bets behind the celebrity faces on the show, judges Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Rita Ora are preparing for an epic showdown as they fight for the chance to be crowned this year’s winner.
Although their identity remains a secret, fans have been putting their detective caps as they flooded social media with their final guesses in a bid to rumble the secret singer.
Now, vocal expert Cece Sammy Lightfoot has unearthed some key insights about the final three characters after studying their voice and behaviour during their performance on the big stage throughout the series.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, Cece confessed that popular contestant Mushroom could be one of her former clients Charlotte Church.
She revealed: “I think it’s her, I think it’s Charlotte Chruch. Because she went from being a child classical singer, moving into a world of pop where everything from your body language to the texture of your voice has to change.
“And you have to feel so confident in it so you’re not dependent of other people, to then shifting and growing into this wonderful young lady that is talking about property. She’s not talking about music anymore.
She added: “You have to have that capability where you still feel confident in what you’re doing and that is ultimately what this show is about.
“She has such an incredible range and you’re in shock when you hear it, but for me I’m also thinking of her height.”
And it appears as though the starlet has done nothing to dispel the rumours that she could be the masked singer as she took to Instagram to share her new show Dream Build on Really as she went foraging … for mushrooms.
Other clues that she could be the singing fungus are Mushroom’s recent hint: “Do I care what people think? Honestly, I don’t give a dame” which could touch on Charlotte’s spat with Dame Shirley Bassey after the Welsh singer urged her to take a break from music in 2005.
Mushroom also said: “Without meaning to labour the point, mushrooms are the observers of the woodlands” – which would harken back to the fact that she gave birth to her third child under a tree in her garden.
