The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan has been rushed to hospital, his wife Victoria Mary Clarke has confirmed.
The star, who currently uses a wheelchair to get around, is back in hospital for medical care.
Taking to Twitter on Monday (December 5), Victoria updated fans: “Please send prayers and healing vibes to @ShaneMacGowan in hospital again and really hoping to get out asap!! Thank you.”

Fans rushed to the replies section to wish Shane the best, with one writing: “Not at Christmas, the man is the sound of Christmas and the line ‘you’re the measure of my dreams’ are the words I dream a man will finally think of me one day.
“He sings to my soul, I hope he recovers swiftly and not too much discomfort.”
Another penned: “I hope that he’s feeling better again and that he’ll be home as soon as it’s Christmas soon, you’d like to be with your loved ones. Lots of strength and all the best.”
“Sending all my healing vibes and prayers to @ShaneMacGowan hope he gets well soon and gets to go home again to his lovely wife @Victoriamary,” a third social media user echoed.
While someone else said: “I send him my best wishes for a quick recovery! I hope Shane gets better soon and can go home soon.”
Shane, 64, hasn’t been in the best health since 2015, when he fell and broke his pelvis.
He later fell and broke a knee, before tearing ligaments in his left knee – and never fully recovered from the injuries.
He confirmed he “can’t walk any more” in an interview in April 2022.
The Fairytale of New York singer has also been open about his battle with addiction, which has affected his health, and requires a carer to help him get out of bed.
After the years of alcohol and drug abuse took their toll on his teeth, Shane splashed out on a set of new gnashers in 2015, complete with gold incisors.
In a poignant interview with The Guardian, Victoria said: “I definitely want to help him to stay alive for as long as possible.”
Shane is now an artist, and earlier this year warned his social media followers to “bring money” when he auctioned off a few select pieces.
