“I’m gonna use the prize money to the get into the industry and stuff and keep on trying – it’s definitely going to give me options now to use that time and exposure from this and to ride the rave and get something else after.
“My dream would be a presenter, ever since I was 4 or 5 I’ve wanted to do it. At school, I used to pretend to be a presenter and have someone on the news and on the traffic, but I’ll keep trying and I’ll say yes to everything.
Meryl then revealed how proud she was about advocating for her condition – after formerly also speaking o a documentary about it.
The BBC contestant said: “I’m really proud as I’m the first person with my condition to win a reality or game show.
“It’s never happened in the UK or America, obviously Ellie Symonds entered Strictly but no one with my condition ever won.
“I feel really proud the whole reason why I went on the show is so people can educate themselves and see I’m the exact same as everyone else.
“I wanted people to see me competing on a level playing field with everyone else, having no advantages or disadvantages – that’s all I wanted to do, so people can see and make my family proud too.”
This comes after fellow winner Aaron Evans revealed a rather odd fan encounter that nearly resulted in a car crash.
The 24-year-old property agent told us: “You wouldn’t even want to know, it’s so weird, I’m not going to say what… but I had to turn my no-caller ID off.
“I was in the car with my mum as well and she almost crashed the car as well, it was so weird.
“My number was on my old work page, it’s gone now, but it was just a bit weird.”
