This Morning fans have rejoiced as Vernon Kay stepped in to fill in for Covid-struck Phillip Schofield on the latest episode (February 2).
The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! alum returned to the programme on Wednesday, having previously presented the show for several days last year.
His return followed the announcement on Monday that Phillip Schofield would be absent until next week after testing positive for coronavirus.
Reuniting with Vernon on the sofa, presenter Rochelle Humes said: “Look who’s back.”
Vernon replied: “Thank you. It’s a great pleasure to be here.”
This Morning viewers were equally delighted to see Vernon back on the sofa.
Posting to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Yes!! Vernon back on This Morning.”
Another commented: “We have Vernon playing Spin To Win!!”
Meanwhile, a third viewer said: “I do like it when the main presenters of This Morning aren’t in though.
“Josie, Vernon, Dermot and Alison seem a little more real and have set foot in the real world.”
A fourth viewer said: “Sanity is back this morning with Vernon back on the sofa.”
“Howling at Vernon and Rochelle! They are me,” another concluded.
Vernon’s arrival follows This Morning being plunged into chaos following Phil’s positive Covid test.
The Dancing on Ice host sat alongside Rochelle on the sofa on Monday before announcing he had tested positive the same evening.
Rochelle tested negative for the virus and returned to the This Morning sofa on Tuesday where she was joined by Alison Hammond.
The pair spoke to Phil who revealed he had been suffering mild symptoms and said he felt “fine”.
It’s not yet known whether Phil will be able to leave self-isolation and return to present Dancing on Ice this weekend.
This Morning airs from 10am on weekdays on ITV.
