This Morning turns tense as Dermot O'Leary swipes he 'doesn't get enough air time'

Dermot O’Leary has hit out at This Morning bosses for not giving him enough time on the airwaves.

On Friday (May 6), Dermot was presenting the ITV show alongside his co-host Alison Hammond when things turned more than a bit tense.

The pair were chatting to a ‘manifesting coach’ about how to get the most out of your life when Dermot couldn’t resist a cheeky joke about “manifesting more air time”.

Roxie Nafousi chatted about her book and podcast on the show, with Allison joking: “You never know, you might get us both on [the podcast]! I can tell you how I manifested Dermot!”

Dermot then hit out, asking: “Can I manifest having a bit more air time when I come on the podcast?”

Dermot was left fuming

He did an impression of him sitting listening to Alison, cheekily resting his chin on his hand as he moaned: “And another thing, oh yeah… something like that.”

Alison thankfully took it all in good humour as she pointed to the camera, urging him: “Well, this is you now! You can lead it to the break, take it to the break!” as she reminded him of his lines on the autocue.

It comes after Dermot was replaced on the ITV show by Irish presenter Craig Doyle.

On Bank Holiday Monday (May 2), Dermot was granted the day off as Craig stepped in to help lighten Alison’s presenting load.

Kicking off the show, Craig giggled: “I feel like I’ve stepped into my telly. I’m delighted to be here.”

Fans were so impressed by Craig’s presenting style that some even begged for him to be a permanent fixture for ITV – and some suggesting he could take Phillip Schofield’s place if he were to ever quit This Morning.

One gushing fan said: “The show is definitely more genuine, warm & friendly when Holly & Phil aren’t on it. Alison, Josie, Dermot, Vernon & Craig are all so much more likeable and relatable.”

Another added: “How refreshing to see the lovely Craig Doyle presenting @thismorning today.”

“Craig taking to this like a natural!” someone else praised.

While a fourth social media user said: “Ooh hello Craig. This is going to shape up to be a good bank holiday.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
