Alison Hammond has defended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry over their upcoming Netflix documentary.
The first trailer for the much-hyped six-part documentary was released ahead of its expected release next week and has sparked backlash from many.
The controversial move was discussed during Friday’s instalment of This Morning, with Alison telling her co-host Dermot O’Leary and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth that she “can’t wait” to watch it as she is eager to hear their story.

Before they played the clip, the 47-year-old said: “I am excited. I can’t wait.”
In the minute-long teaser, Meghan says: “When the stakes are this high doesn’t it make more sense to hear our stories from us?”
At the end of the clip, the Suits actress revealed she wants to share her story with the world as Alison responded: “Yes, Meghan I want to hear the story, everyone wants to hear it.”
Continuing the discussion, Gyles questioned why the royal pair are going ahead with the documentary when they have insisted about keeping privacy within their lives.
But the Big Brother star continued defending the pair as she asked: “If the Kardashians do it why can’t they? They’re damned if they do, damned if they don’t.”
It’s no surprise the Netflix production has sparked plenty of debate and former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan had his say on Twitter.
Sharing the trailer, the 57-year-old penned: “OMG. This is already vomit-inducing,’ followed by several vomiting emojis.
He continued: “Imagine bleating about privacy then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives? Then imagine preaching compassion as you trash your family again?
“Then imagine releasing 1st trailer deliberately to ruin your brother’s big trip to America? Repulsive hypocrites.”
Reports say the documentary, which Netflix describes as a “global event,” will land on the streaming service on December 8.
