Tipping Point fans angry as 'intelligent' player makes gobsmacking final decision

Tipping Point fans were left rather unimpressed on Monday afternoon after a contestant opted to only play two counters at a time during the final round.

Despite her nervousness, Lauren had hopes of winning big on the popular ITV show and certainly had the nation behind her.

But many were left frustrated with how she decided to play the game in the nail-biting final by not taking enough risks.

Jumping on Twitter, avid fans aired their thoughts on her decision.

One annoyed viewer questioned: “She is slightly more intelligent than most contestants. So why she only going for two counters?”

Another fan said: “She loves history- goes 2 counters???”

A third penned: “Top to bottom, 2 counters – not really endearing yourself to the hashtag with that lot.”

“WHY THE F**K IS SHE ONLY DOING 2 COUNTERS,” another viewer added.

But fans who wanted Lauren to win big were right to be annoyed, as her decision ultimately cost her in the end.

Despite struggling to gain many counters from the machine, Lauren did manage to win £2850.

However, when presenter Ben Shephard asked if she was willing to take the trade, Lauren refused.

Despite her reservations on the trade, when Ben did place the counters in the machine to show her if she could have won big, Lauren unfortunately missed out on the jackpot prize of £10,000.

Rushing to Twitter again, fans shared their disbelief regarding her huge loss.

One fan wrote: “Taking the Trade and watching the Jackpot drop after only taking 2 Counters for most questions in the Final. F******g wonderful viewing on #TippingPoint.”

Another viewer who was on Lauren’s side commented: “Wtaf? Those counters that fell at the end should have been hers Ben!! The winner always gets everything that drops in that last round!! That’s made me see red I’m afraid!”

A third confused fan chimed: “Thought coins dropped in last round were all yours whenever they fall, robbed her.”

Meanwhile another fan said: “The ‘if they took the trade’ part of #tippingpoint has no bearing whatsoever on what would’ve happened had they taken the trade.”

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
