A Tipping Point player has shocked fans by hugging host Ben Shephard during the latest episode.
Friday’s edition (July 1) of the ITV quiz show saw player Alex take home a whopping £10,000 after gambling on a trade and securing the jackpot counter with his last trade counter in play.
The thrilling scenes saw Alex jump up in delight and throw his arms around Tipping Point host Ben Shephard, who was quick to praise the contestant’s “spectacular victory”.

Ben said: “£10,000. It’s a spectacular victory.
“Really, really, congratulations. I’m absolutely delighted for you.”
Explaining his decision to risk a trade, Alex said: “If it falls in the right spot, it could just easily knock it over.
“I always said that if it was on the edge there, I’d go for it.
“You know what? I came with nothing so I’ll go for it.”
After two trade counters failed to take out the all-important jackpot counter, Alex had one final trade counter left at his disposal.
As the final trade counter was placed in the machine and successfully knocked the jackpot counter down, the youngster could be seen jumping for joy and launching himself into Ben’s open arms.
Alex’s victory followed him seeing off three other competitors earlier in the show.
The day’s first dumped player Tom failed to secure any money in his cash pot before exiting the competition.
Alex later saw off Gemma and Helen before taking on the final round alone.
He amassed an impressive cash pot of £2,350 before risking everything on a trade.
Asked what he would spend the incredible jackpot money on, Alex revealed he planned to travel.
He also revealed his intent to once again “swim with dolphins” using the prize money.
Tipping Point airs at 4pm on weekdays on ITV.
