Tipping Point host Ben Shephard told a player to ‘prove their rival wrong’ in a tense exchange during the latest show.
Tuesday’s episode (July 12) of the ITV quiz programme welcomed players John, Kellie, Ethan and Anne to try and win the impressive £10k jackpot counter.
The show kicked off with a question about peanuts which was answered successfully by John.

After opting to pass on placing an early counter into the machine, John opted to pass to Kellie – after seemingly deeming her his least threatening rival.
An aggrieved Kellie replied: “I know you were going to say that.”
She was swiftly supported by Ben, who replied: “Kellie. You thought long and hard [about that].
“Let’s see if you can prove him wrong then Kellie.”
Kellie did initially prove John wrong, as she survived the first round to make it to the second stage of the episode.
Ethan was the first player to leave the stage during the day’s show.
He was followed by Kellie, who left the show in the second round, with Anne and John left to battle it out in the penultimate competition.
After a tough round, John succeeded in beating Anne and advanced alone to the final stage.
He struggled in the final solo round, losing a number of counters in the music question segment.
Despite his final round struggles, John amassed a final cash pot total of £3,000.
After failing to knock down the jackpot counter, he declined the trade and opted to take home the money.
He said: “I’m going to take the money please, Ben.”
After playing out the trade, it was confirmed John would have won the jackpot had he taken the risk.
Tipping Point airs from 4 pm on weekdays on ITV.
