Titanic star David Warner has passed away aged 80 following a cancer-related illness.
The actor died on Sunday (July 24) at Denville Hall, a care home for those in the entertainment industry.
In a statement to the BBC, his family wrote: “Over the past 18 months he approached his diagnosis with a characteristic grace and dignity.

“He will be missed hugely by us, his family and friends, and remembered as a kind-hearted, generous and compassionate man, partner and father, whose legacy of extraordinary work has touched the lives of so many over the years. We are heartbroken.”
Warner’s best known for playing Billy Zane’s villainous sidekick Spicer Lovejoy in James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster Titanic.
Fans will recall him playing photographer Keith Jennings, who met an inglorious end in 1976’s supernatural classic, The Omen.
He recently appeared as naval eccentric Admiral Boom in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns in 2018.
The star also enjoyed a successful television career, with roles in Wallander, Ripper Street, Doctor Who and the original Twin Peaks among others.
Warner was also known for playing various characters in the Star Trek franchise and starred in several Doctor Who audio plays.
In 1981, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Special for his portrayal of Pomponius Falco in the television miniseries Masada.
Fans have taken to social media to remember the actor.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “David Warner. What an actor! He’ll be missed but never forgotten.”
Another added: “RIP such a great actor.”
A third person posted: “Such sad news. I loved David Warner in just about everything I saw him in – starting all the way back with TRON. He’s always been there, and he’ll be so missed.”
While a fourth social media user said: “Oh no. RIP David Warner.”
