Uma Thurman has revealed she had “a lot of anxiety” when wearing the skintight Kill Bill outfit just after giving birth.
The 51-year-old actress had to wear the famous yellow tracksuit as she played the assassin called The Bride in Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 two-part martial arts film.
When the first feature was filmed, the Hollywood star had only just given birth to her son Levon and had to wear the iconic yellow outfit.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, she said: “I really didn’t want to wear the yellow tracksuit.
“I had just had my son and anyone that has just had a baby is not going to want to wear a skin-tight onesie, they would have a lot of anxiety.”
Uma explained to the BBC viewers how “a lot of work” was done by the costume team to make her feel comfortable.
She added: “So, there was a lot of training, a lot of work, and a lot of brilliant costume work (to) recreate the look of Bruce Lee while covering my belly.”
Uma who shares her now 20-year-old son and daughter Maya, 23, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke, also is a mother to nine-year-old Luna with ex-partner Arpad Busson.
The actress’s character in Kill Bill seeks revenge on her former colleagues who made a failed attempt at killing her and her unborn child.
Uma reportedly said she looked like a “banana Popsicle” in the all-in-one.
Tarantino previously said: “Uma hated the yellow tracksuit. Hated it. Didn’t get it. Thought she looked like a Popsicle – a banana Popsicle.
“She was just not into it. She had no idea who Bruce Lee was, practically. I finally had to show her Game of Death. She sorta kind of got it.
“Now, since then it’s become this totally iconic thing. And she probably doesn’t even remember it, But she was like, “You’re trying to make me look like a clown!’.”
The US star was later nominated for a best actress Golden Globe for the role but lost out to Hilary Swank, who won with her character in Million Dollar Baby.
The Graham Norton Show airs on Friday on BBC One at 10.35pm.
