Prince Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Lady Victoria Hervey has claimed that Ghislaine Maxwell would use her as “bait” when “fishing” for girls for notorious paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The 45-year-old former model would like to see the names of all girls within the “little black book” unveiled before the disgraced socialite faces sentencing in June.
Last month in New York, Maxwell, 60, was convicted of grooming and trafficking girls for Epstein to abuse.
Reflecting back on the situation, Lady Victoria has now realised that her IT-girl profile could have been used to entice other young girls.
Speaking to Ranvir Singh on the ITV documentary Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile, she opened up about Epstein and Maxwell’s relationship.
She told the GMB host: “Jeffrey was really the frontman and I think Ghislaine was the accomplice – you know it was kind of like Batman and Robin, they were a double act.
“I don’t think Jeffrey could have done any of it without Ghislaine,” commented Prince Andrew’s former girlfriend.
Ranvir asked: “And Ghislaine was crucial to getting those girls was she, to those dinners?”
Responding, Lady Victoria claimed: “I think he just kind of sat back and waited for her to sort of go fishing and find however many girls were needed to entertain his friends.
“I think I was pretty much used as bait, you know.
“Looking back at it, you know, I was really young and naive and ‘she’s entertaining these, you know, big businessman’. So I didn’t realise it of course at the time, but looking back.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Lady Victoria appeared to sympathise with Maxwell, adding that she had been a victim of Epstein too.
She claimed: “I think Ghislaine was a victim and is a victim.
“She was a victim that then became the accomplice as her role changed in that relationship when they were no longer together. She kind of switched sides. I do see her as a victim as well.”
Lady Victoria continued: “She is a scapegoat right now, so unfortunately for her, she is being taken down for what he has done as well. Some might argue it is not quite as fair as it could be.”
Last week Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen had stripped the Duke of his “His Royal Highness” title – along with royal patronages and all military affiliations.
The statement read: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.
“The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”
