Wagner shares grim reality of 'disgusting' X Factor house with 'kids' leaving loos dirty

Wagner revealed how “disgusting” the X Factor house was when he stayed there in 2010.

During an exclusive chat with the Daily Star, he revealed that the likes of One Direction, Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel dirtied the place up.

Wagner said: “The reason why I left the X Factor house is simple, there were lots of kids, lots of young people in one house.

“The kitchen sink was always filthy, with washing to do, I mean, filthy.

“The toilet seat was always wet, so, you would have to queue up to go to the toilet and then you would have to disinfect the seats, it was just disgusting.

“I said look can I go to a hotel, please? It was mainly for hygiene. I hate to use other people’s toilet seats. I hate it, I hate sharing a bathroom, sharing a toilet.”

At the time, there were also rumours that Wagner tried to sabotage the other contestants by spraying deodorant in the air, however, he put these claims to bed.

He explained: “The reason why I was spraying the air was that the place smelled bad, I never realised it would affect anyone’s throats. So, I think that was a bit over the top from him.

“We all went separate ways, we all have our lives before we went there and carried on after the show. so no I don’t hear much from anybody. sometimes, very rarely, I speak to Mary or Rebecca Ferguson, and I spoke to Treyc Cohen.”

He also detailed how Simon Cowell becoming “Mr Nice Guy” was one of the things that killed the show.

The X Factor was axed in 2021 after 17 years with ITV saying at the time that there were “no current plans” for another series.

He told the Daily Star’s Carly in Convo he thought the fact people don’t buy records anymore was also a factor.

“The other thing which I think contributed to the show losing its popularity was the fact that Simon had to become Mr Nice Guy.

“Before he would say horrible things to people singing badly.

“But now more and more the world is becoming a very boring place, where you have to be politically correct at all times.”

“People enjoyed watching him say horrible things, which is wrong, but that was something that I think attracted people to watch the show.”
