That ’70s Show star Ashton Kutcher celebrates his 44th birthday today (February 7).
The show was a springboard to fame and fortune for many of its cast, after it first aired in 1998, until 2006.
In the decades since, the stars have been kept busy with Hollywood success, marriage, and fame and fortune.
Sadly it didn’t end well for all of the line-up, with drug abuse and tragic deaths also occurring.
The show starred the likes of Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Wilmer Valderrama and Danny Masterson.
It revolved around teenagers growing up in Wisconsin in the 1970s.
One of the stars, Wilmer Valderrama, looked back at the series on the 20th anniversary: “We had no idea what was ahead of us, or if it would even last … but we knew it was gonna be fun.”
“We spent 8 years and 200 episodes together, we traveled the world … we grew up together. We were a family, and will always be.”
Here’s what some of the cast are up to now.
Ashton Kutcher
He wasn’t the show’s lead, but Ashton ended up being one of the biggest success stories from That ’70s Show.
Ashton starred as Michael Kelso, and he quit the show after the seventh season, but returned for five episodes of the final series.
His success continued in films like The Butterfly Effect and Dude, Where’s My Car? TV series Punked shot him to the big time, and was then Charlie Sheen’s replacement on Two and a Half Men.
He’s had an interesting love life, marrying superstar Demi Moore from 2005 to 2013.
They later divorced, and the childhood sweetheart fairytale came true, marrying co-star Mila Kunis in 2015. They have two children together, daughter Wyatt and son Dimitri.
Mila Kunis
Stunning Mila starred as Jackie Burkhart in the show and was just 14 years old when the show started.
One year later, she landed the voice part of Meg Griffin on Family Guy, replacing Lacey Chabert.
Like Ashton, she also found fame acting on the big screen, starring in the likes of Bad Moms, Ted, Friends with Benefits and Black Swan.
In one of the most surprising couples, Kunis dated Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin for eight years, before marrying and having children with Ashton.
Topher Grace
Topher was the leading man of That ’70s Show, playing the role of Eric Forman.
While the show was still running, he went on to star in films including Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! and Traffic.
He threw the show into disarray when he unexpectedly left in 2005 after seven seasons.
Like co-star Ashton, he did return for the finale episode. He has since acted in films like Interstellar, Spider-Man 3 and Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman in 2018.
He found love too with a fellow actor, and married Ashley Hinshaw in 2016, and they have two children.
Laura Prepon
Laura turned heads when she starred in Orange Is The New Black as Alex Vause.
After her breakthrough role of Donna Pinciotti on That ’70s Show, she picked up some film roles including 2016’s The Girl on the Train.
She carried on with TV acting in Are You There, Chelsea? and October Road, but Orange Is The New Black made her a recognisable face for a new generation.
She married Ben Foster in 2018 and they have one daughter together.
Wilmer Valderrama
Wilmer has posted several times reminiscing about his time on the show.
He played the role of Fez for all eight seasons. Like Mila, he moved into voice acting and took on the lead role in Disney’s Handy Manny.
He also acted as Nick Torres and Flashback Arturo Amador on police crime drama NCIS and also appeared as Will Blake on Minority Report.
He is engaged to model Amanda Pacheco, and they had their first daughter, called Nakano Oceana, in February of this year.
Danny Masterson
Masterson played the role of Steven Hyde.
Before That ’70s Show he also appeared in Party of Five, Cybill, Joe’s Life and Roseanne.
He changed to movie work after the series ended, including Yes Man, Smiley Face and The Chicago 8.
He reunited with Ashton Kutcher in Netflix’s The Ranch in 2016.
Masterson was written out of the show after three seasons. His removal came after accusations of sexual misconduct.
He was arrested and charged in June 2020, accused of raping three women in the early 2000s.
In June 2021 he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Debra Jo Rupp
She starred as the much-loved Kitty Forman.
Before landing the role as the doting mother, she made her name appearing as Alice Knight-Buffay on Friends.
She also appeared in The Jeff Foxworthy Show and Davis Rules.
Like some of the other stars, she moved into voice acting on Disney’s Teacher’s Pet as well as some minor movie roles.
Debra also starred in the smash hit series This Is Us and The Ranch, along with with Ashton Kutcher.
Tanya Roberts
Tanya Roberts played the role of Midge Pinciotti.
She made her name playing Julie Rogers in the last season of Charlie’s Angels.
Sadly she was forced to leave That ’70s Show in 2001 due to the poor health of her husband, actor Barry Roberts.
She was last seen acting in a two-episode stint on Barbershop in 2005.
Poor Tanya was married to Barry from 1974 until he died in 2006.
The star died in January 2021 at the age of 65.
She was reportedly hospitalised after collapsing at her home on Christmas Eve, and was put on a ventilator.
Tragically she didn’t recover.
Lisa Robin Kelly
There was further tragedy for the cast with Lisa Robin Kelly, who played the role of Laurie Forman.
She played Eric Forman’s older sister.
Lisa went on to have a guest-star spot on Charmed, before becoming a series regular in season 2.
She also appeared in the films The Food Chain: A Hollywood Scarytale in 2005 and SUX2BME in 2012.
Off screen Kelly has issued with substance abuse was arrested multiple times.
Kelly died at just 43 back in 2013 after checking into Pax Rehab House in Altadena, California.
It was reported she died of an accidental overdose following a “multiple drug intoxication.”
