Zac Efron unrecognisable in beefy body transformation for new wrestler movie

Zac Efron is almost unrecognisable for his new film role after undergoing a dramatic body transformation.

The former Disney star will portray legendary wrestler Kevin Von Erich in a new movie –The Iron Claw – and he’s got seriously beefy for the role.

The 35-year-old is known for his hunky physique, but he’s worked up his muscles and even thrown on a long brown wig for the role.

Zac was photographed on the set of the movie wearing just a turquoise towel and flip flops as he wandered around backstage of the Louisiana film lot.

It’s safe to say the Hollywood hunk looks miles away from his role of Troy Bolton on High School Musical, which shot him to fame.

Since then he’s had huge roles in films such as Hairspray, Baywatch, The Greatest Showman and even as Ted Bundy in the biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

More recently though he’s turned his hand to documentary making for the Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

The documentary followed him on his travels around the world – to destinations like France, Iceland, Peru and Puerto Rico – with a focus on sustainability.

Zac’s body transformation isn’t the only new look he’s had in recent years, as many fans accused him of having extreme plastic surgery on his face.

But he later spoke of an accident he’d had at home which resulted in his jaw being wired shut, causing the changes.

He said he “didn’t really care” about the plastic surgery accusations, telling Entertainment Tonight: “It was funny. It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.”

Zac’s new film The Iron Claw will focus on the Von Erich family and how they shaped modern-age wrestling, starting back in the 1960s.

He will appear in the movie alongside Jeremy Allen White, Maura Tierney, Lily James and Harris Dickenson.

Kevin Von Erich, now 65, is a one-time world champion after winning the title at WCWA World Heavyweight Championship.
