A Place in the Sun viewers were left howling with laughter after seeing a pair of house hunters standing in a garden that looked like a ‘massive ashtray.’
Channel 4 presenter Ben Hillman had impressed Paul and Nicola in their search for a holiday home in Puerto del Carmen.
Despite claiming he ‘goes for gold’ with the properties he’s found, Hillman had played it safe by showing the pair homes that were massively under their £180,000 budget.

Paul was hoping Ben would find them a “three-bedroom villa with its own pool” but was realistically keeping his goals to a one or two-bedroom apartment in a complex with a shared pool.
The couple were then shown around a number of options, with their more ‘down to Earth’ goals in mind – but the second property seemed to take it a little too far.
Paul and Nicola were seen speaking to their host while standing in a “garden” that was just a mound of soil – prompting viewers to compare it to an “ashtray.”
One viewer said: “Massive ashtray!”
Another added: “Oh gawd, property 2 from the outside.”
A third commented: “Wow, lovely Volcanic garden.”

“It’s really not a contender, Benjamin,” a fourth wrote.
The couple looked around the two-bedroom apartment which was on the market for just over £150,000.
It featured a terrace, open plan kitchen/dining/living area and a modern shower room.
But while Paul said he loved that Ben was “finding properties at the bottom of his budget” – the pair ended the show bagging an over-budget apartment for just £165,000.
