American Pie star Alyson Hannigan, 49, has shown off her “insane” transformation as she revealed she shed 20lbs of “both weight and emotional baggage” while competing in Dancing With The Stars.
The actress, who played Michelle in the hit 1999 comedy and is also known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and How I Met Your Mother, took part in the 32nd season of the celeb dancing competition and came in fifth place. But while she didn’t take home the winning trophy, Alyson celebrated her achievements on the show as she took to Instagram to share a side-by-side before and after photo revealing the incredible effect 11 weeks of dancing had on both her body and confidence.
Alyson looked incredible as she donned a silver fringe dress in both images but showed off a toned-up figure in the second picture. She captioned the post: “The before and after says it all. I lost 20 pounds of both weight and emotional baggage during my time on @dancingwiththestars. I can’t thank @sashafarber1 enough for helping me shed my insecurities and getting me to the confident and strong place I am today!”

Her comment section was quickly flooded by fans complimenting how good she looked. “I didn’t notice the physical difference until Taylor night because you were so beautiful before – but you just looked ripped now! You’re such a light,” one person wrote.

Another commented: “You look stunning in both, but this transformation is insane!” A third added: “I think ur soooo fine either way.”
Her dance partner, Sasha Farber, shared the same before and after image on his own Instagram as he commended Alyson’s hard work. He wrote: “I wanted to post this picture and celebrate, how proud and hard working my partner was during the season!!!!

“I believe dance is the best way to exercise stimulate the brain and have fun in the process!!!!! I call it ‘BodyBySasha’ who wants to sign up!!!!!” Alyson commented back: “Take it from me, it WORKS!!!”
The actress thanked Sasha and the other dance pros and competitors as she reflected upon her time on DTWS in an earlier social media post. Sharing a series of clips of her from throughout the competition, she wrote: “Where do I even begin? I really don’t have enough words in my vocabulary to express my gratitude for this experience.

“To go into this journey with mostly fear, and come out how I feel now is indescribable I cannot thank @sashafarber1 enough for everything he gave me, shared with me and experienced with me. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”
She added: “To all the other pros and cast, thank you for being a part of this journey I enjoyed getting to know you and you’ll always have a special place in my heart. To the incredible crew this is a massive show and everyone is doing the most amazing job Wardrobe department. Your skills are beyond anything I’ve witnessed. Thank you for always making me look and feel my very best.”
