An Antiques Roadshow guest was praised for her calm reaction after she was given a five-figure valuation on an 80p drawing.
The guest brought an old drawing she bought from a thrift store and was tempted to find out the worth of it.
“It was $1 (80p) on a hot day and I debated whether or not to buy it,” she told expert Todd Weyman on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow in the US.

Todd was thrilled when he looked at the etching, which was signed by artist Gene Kloss, and admitted he has never found another impression up at an auction.
“This one is called ‘Snow and Adobe’ and it dates back from 1934,” he shared.
“It’s a super scarce etching by Kloss and it’s known in only 35 impressions.”
The woman said the printed artwork of snow “called and cooled me”, adding: “We are standing in the heat and it still has that cooling feeling.
“And I think the thing that was so compelling was the light.”
When she took it to a gallery 30 years ago and asked for care advice, the staff offered to buy the etching off of her for $2,000 (£1,610) but she turned it down.
“It was in a cheap little metal frame and when I took it out, it was backed by a piece of cardboard and it had Scotch tape on it,” she added.
“I really felt that it was a gift, how sometimes things are just given to you.”
The expert recalled Gene Kloss made about 600 etchings but he’s positive that the “Snow and Adobe” made it in the top five.
He added: “I would put a replacement or insurance value on this work at $10,000 (£8,052).”
The woman took a pause and responded: “$1? $10,000. This is working for me because I love it. It’s not going anywhere.
“Oh $10,000? That’s amazing! Seriously I love it!”
Fans loved the guest’ reaction, with one saying: “She’s cool as the etching. I love her vibes.”
“She put the value of its meaning over the value of money. She’s amazing,” another said and a third added: “No amount of money replaces the love and passion she has for the painting. She is emotional connected.”
