BBC Breakfast fans concerned by ‘tiny’ new set as show undergoes transformation

With the BBC Breakfast team officially moving into a new studio, fans have been rendered concerned over whether their new space is large enough for the presenters to perform to their optimum ability.

On June 26, Jon Kay and Sally Nugent teamed-up for the latest edition of the programme, which gives many early-rising Brits an insight into what’s featured in the day’s news.

But while some viewers were entertained by their post-Glastonbury Elton John puns, followed by Jon himself serenading the audience with his cover of Rocket Man, a large chunk of the viewers couldn’t resist pointing out the obvious.

Shortly before going on air, the presenters gathered for a group shot in the studio, located in Media City, Manchester.

With a smile beaming across his face, Jon captioned the image: “Good Morning. We’re ready.”

However, while not everyone chose to make a comment, one Twitter user couldn’t help but point out the elephant in the room.

She said: “I won’t lie, the studio looks tiny!! Are you all going to fit, or is it an optical illusion?!”

Another user didn’t pull any punches in giving his full review.

The fan raged: “It’s funny how a new studio completely changes your presenting style and makes you less natural. BBC Breakfast feels completely different this morning. I’m sure they’ll settle in eventually, and the warm personal presenting style will return, hopefully.

Another viewer tweeted: “The new BBC Breakfast studio looks amazing but thank God for wide angles lenses as it looks very narrow in this shot.”

Unsurprisingly, some loyal fans were delighted with how the studio looked.

Derek said: “Looks great,” followed by a thumbs-up emoji.

While Benjamin added: “Good morning, the studio lucks fab.”

BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One
