BBC Breakfast fans fume ‘can’t you get anything right’ after jaw-dropping blunder

BBC Breakfast fans fumed after a major blunder was aired during Friday’s instalment (July 7) of the morning programme.

Naga Munchetty, 48, and Charlie Stayt, 60, resumed their spot on the red sofa for the second time this week, sharing the top news headlines of the day with viewers across the country.

Naga revealed that the popular car model Ford Fiesta will roll off the production line for the final time today after 47 years on the road.

Around 22 million of the motors have been sold across the world, with the model regularly topping the list of most popular cars in the UK.

This came following the company’s decision to axe the popular supermini in order to make space for more electric vehicles.

A video package documenting the car’s near five decade long history then ran on screen, including archive footage and several clips of the popular motor.

But motor enthusiasts were quick to notice how one model of the car was incorrectly described and also featured the wrong pictures.

It was actually the American version of the car that was broadcast, leading fans straight to social media to vent their frustrations.

One person penned: “#BBCBreakfast shoddy. Mk 1 is ‘mark 1’ and Mk 7 is ‘mark 7’.”

“That’s the American Ford Fiesta…… Jesus, can’t you get anything right?” added another raging viewer.

A third pointed out: “MK1 is a postcode in Milton Keynes.”

While someone else fumed: “Mark 1 you morons not mk1, followed by a picture of an American spec fiesta.”

It comes after fans threatened to switch off after spotting “tension” between Naga and Charlie during Thursday’s show (July 6).

One person declared: “Mornings are already depressing enough with tons of bad news so, can we have a duo without so much tension as displayed between Charlie and Naga. #bbcbreakfast.”

While another echoed: “You can feel the chill in that bbc breakfast studio this morning.”
