BBC Breakfast fans say Naga Munchetty is 'embarrassing herself' as she 'trips up' guest

BBC Breakfast viewers were not happy with host Naga Munchetty during Thursday’s episode.

On March 30, viewers took to social media to rant about the host who they claim was “trying to trip up” her TV guests.

Naga presented the show alongside her usual co-star Charlie Stayt and was joined by Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves.

The presenting pair discussed windfall tax with the politician, though fans were not pleased with how Naga conducted herself.

One fan wrote: “Well done Rachel Reeves fending off the usual rude interruptions from Naga Munchetty. A really poor interview when the only questions asked are about how long windfall taxes would be levied by Labour. #bbcbreakfast”

A second added: “Naga Hagger really embarrassing herself now….trying to tie Rachel Reeves in knots. Failing completely #BBCBreakfast”

While a third penned: “Naga constantly trying to trip her interviewees up with ridiculous, aggressive questions. It’s so tedious. She’s just not intelligent enough to interview politicians”

“#BBCBreakfast Naga Hagger not quite understanding what a windfall tax is. She’s not very good. #BBCBreakfast,” a fourth shared.

Another wrote: “Not entirely sure that Naga Hagger gets this interviewing thing. I’m a bit old-fashioned in thinking that guest answers really should be longer than the interviewer’s question…”

Whereas other viewers thought she was doing a stellar job on the show.

One fan defended her by saying: “I think Naga may have helped with a change in broadcasting #BBCBreakfast”

Naga has had a spot on the red sofa since 2009, making it 14 years she’s been starring on the BBC show.

For many of these, she has been sat next to Charlie, after the pair took over on Thursdays, replacing Sally Nugent and Jon Kay.
