BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty distracts viewers as show-stopping outfit sparks frenzy

BBC Breakfast fans were divided as they tuned into the show to see the return of Naga Munchetty.

The presenter and journalist was previously missing from the breakfast show earlier this month after she revealed that she was suffering from the symptoms of Adenomyosis.

However on Friday’s edition of the programme (16 June), Naga, 48, took to the airwaves alongside Charlie Stayt in a bold lime green jumpsuit, taking BBC One and BBC News viewers by surprise.

One fan sarcastically wrote: “nice outfit naga! #bbcbreakfast”, whilst accompanying their GIF with a tweet of a man opening his curtains in the morning and subsequently falling down due to the bright light.

Another said: “What on earth is Munchetty wearing this morning? #BBCBreakfast.”

Whilst a third posted: “Just switched on @BBCBreakfast and saw what looked like the GREEN LANTERN @BBCNagga #BBCBreakfast,” alongside a graphic comic picture of the infamous DC superhero.

“Case in point: Naga has apparently enjoyed the “latest hot spell” as mentioned on BBC Breakfast, this morning,” joked a fourth viewer.

Meanwhile, a fifth said: “what in the actual f*** is naga munchety wearing on bbc breakfast this morning…she looks like shes covered in custard.”

However some viewers took to social media as they lavished praise on the presenter for her bold look.

One watcher said: “You look super cool in your lovely lime suit!”

Whilst a second noted: “Good morning #BBCBreakfast Just got shouted by my hubby to take a look @TVNaga01 outfit.

They added: “Bringing us some great Friday joy, gorgeous.”

This comes as the star returned to the long-running red sofa show after bravely admitting her health issues at the beginning of June.

Naga normally hosts the flagship morning show on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays with co-host Charlie Stayt, where she delivers the latest news and chat for viewers across the country.

But Naga’s fans might have been scratching their heads when they tuned in on 01 June as she was nowhere to be seen in the studio.

Instead, a presenter shake-up saw Breakfast star Nina Warhurst step in and host the show with Charlie in Naga’s absence.

The broadcaster opened up to listeners on her Radio 5 Live show and spoke to others suffering from the same condition of Adenomyosis on Tuesday (May 30).

On her show, she said: “Right now as I sit here talking to you, I am in pain. Constant, nagging pain.

“In my uterus, around my pelvis – sometimes it runs down my thighs. And I’ll have some level of pain for the entire show and for the rest of the day until I go to sleep.

“Every so often the pain changes; it becomes a stabbing pain. A pain that takes my breath away and I can do nothing but sit with it for a minute or curl up to cope.”

She added: “I’m in pain because I have something called Adenomyosis. You probably haven’t heard of it, I hadn’t either until I was told eight months ago that I have it.
