BBC Breakfast turned rather frosty for a moment when Charlie Stayt refused to answer Naga Munchetty’s questions.
Naga and Charlie returned to the sofa as usual on Thursday morning (June 22), but things got a bit awkward when they discussed the papers.
After reading the headlines, Naga was keen to chat about habits following a story in the Daily Mail titled ‘So, do you have a favourite gas ring?’ which showed that 57% of Brits enjoyed keeping up a routine.

She asked him: “Are you a creature of habit?”, to which Charlie admitted: “Quite a bit, yeah. I would say so.”
He then made Naga laugh when he jokingly placed his pen on his desk in a way that suggested he was full of habits in the workplace too.
With a look to the camera, he quipped: “I’ll just put my pen exactly there wile I’m talking, carry on.”
She asked: “Do you know when you cook and you put something on the hob, you have a favoured gas ring?”, and Charlie immediately replied: “Yes.”
Naga went on: “I don’t think about this, and I don’t think it’s unusual” before telling Charlie about the Mail story, adding: “I’d like to think that I wasn’t wedded to a routine but I do think I am.”
She then went through the list of popular habits and asked Charlie whether her partook in them, with the first being: “Do you sleep on the same side of the bed every night?”
Charlie replied: “Yes,” before shutting her questions down as he declared: “I’m not going to answer all of these questions. Can we get to the gas ring.”
Naga couldn’t help giggling and it was clear she knew how to wind her pal up, because she continued with her quiz.
“Having tea in the same mug every day?”, prompting Charlie to say: “No, no, no,” before he flashed a grin.
After some pondering, he confessed: “Well I do when I’m here.”
Charlie wanted to get to the gas ring question, but sadly it never came.
