Celebrity Big Brother star Nicola McLean has lifted the lid on what nominations are really like.
The three-times BB star spoke exclusively to Daily Star and shared the reality of putting up her co-stars for eviction. Mum-of-two Nicola said: “I’m such a funny personality because although I don’t really give a f*** what people think of me, I do care about hurting people’s feelings – unless I don’t like you.
“So live nominations, for me, were a nightmare unless I really disliked you, which I would have had no problem standing up and nominating the likes of Kim [Woodburn] and Jedward. But if it was all the people that I really liked, I hated doing it. Yeah, I’m not good at that sort of stuff.

“Plus, you’re not allowed to just say, you know, ‘I’m closer to everyone else’. They make you sit in there for hours. That’s what people don’t realise. So for the nominations, viewers see like a two-minute clip, but if you don’t give a solid, horrible answer, basically, they’ll just keep you in there until you do.”
“For example, I’d go in and say ‘Right Big Brother, I’d like to nominate Calum [Best] because I feel like now his mum has gone, it’d be best if he goes as well’. They’d go ‘That’s not a valid answer’.”
Nicola continued: “They keep on pushing you until you basically lose your s*** and say, ‘Right, I’m nominating them because they’re a f***ing c***.’ And then you don’t even really believe the things that you’ve said. But you’ve been in there for two hours and you’re exhausted.
“That’s what people don’t realise – it’s a lot longer process than you think. They want you to say something that will make you look mean. So, then you just say whatever you think they want you to hear because you just want to get out of that diary room.”
Despite hating live nomination, Nicola said it was one of the most fun experiences of her life. The former Page 3 star explained: “I know it sounds really odd but it’s the most fun you’ll have in your life and then also like the most anxiety-inducing experience you’ll have in your life.
“It’s just highs and lows that you would never experience before but the highs are really funny. It’s a bizarre place to be, but never knowing what’s going to happen that’s not good for many people.”
Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm
