Black Sabbath legend Geezer Butler has revealed how he met Satan face-to-face.
The 73-year-old bassist, born Terence Butler, said that he ‘got into’ Satanism for a brief spell in the late 1960s, around the same time he formed the band.
He said: “For about six months in the late Sixties I was into the Satan stuff, but then horrible things started happening.”

He said one of his uncles “died suddenly”, followed by one of his aunts – and that he was then visited in his bed by the Devil himself.
Geezer said he was “visited in bed one night” by “a shadowy vision that looked like Satan”.
“I went, that’s it, I can’t do this (Satanism) any more,” the rock legend continued.
He said the band – whose other members included singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitar icon Tommy Iommi, and drummer Bill Ward – had a massive ‘occultist following’.
Fans would apparently turn up a hotel rooms wearing black robes and chanting about the Devil.
The bass guitar player also said that the 1970 song Black Sabbath was a “warning” about the Devil and Satanism.
The lyrics to the song include: “Big black shape with eyes of fire…Telling people their desire…Satan’s sitting there, he’s smiling…Watches those flames get higher and higher.”
They continue: “Oh no, no, please God help me…Is it the end, my friend?…Satan’s coming ‘round the bend.”
Asked if he still believed in the Devil, he said he had ‘got into casting spells’ a few years ago, but that ‘bad things’ started happening again.
“(I tried) getting into spells and things like that, but bad things started happening again. So I was, like, oh, forget that,” he added.
