Britney Spears shares cryptic four-word message ahead of bombshell memoir release

Britney Spears has shared a cryptic message with her fans ahead of the release of her memoir.

The Toxic singer, 41, had taken a brief break from Instagram after deactivating her account. But less than 24 hours later she returned to the social media platform with a mysterious post for her 42.2million followers.

She shared a picture of heart-shaped cake covered in white frosting, cherries and lit candles with the words “See you in hell” written across it in pink icing. It wasn’t clear who the post was aimed at as the pop star simply captioned it with two manicure emojis.

Britney’s message comes just shortly before the release of her highly-anticipated memoir, The Woman In Me, which is due to hit the shelves on Tuesday (October 24). The tell-all book has already been making headlines after teaser excerpts came with a number of bombshell revelations.

It details her three-year romance with Justin Timberlake, with the Oops!… I Did It Again singer admitting she cheated on the NSYNC band member with her dancer. She also revealed she had a secret abortion when she was 19 because he “wasn’t ready to be a father.”

It’s not the only romance she writes about, Britney also describes her passionate fling with actor Colin Farrell after her split from Justin. She called their short-lived relationship a “two-week brawl” as she claimed they were “all over each other”.

The memoir will be released on October 24

She also opens up about her 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander, during a New Year’s trip to Las Vegas in 2004. Britney admitted she was not in love but was just “very drunk” and “very bored” when they tied the knot.

Shortly before temporarily deleting her account last week, Britney took to her Instagram to hit out at negative comments about the memoir. In a lengthy statement, she said the book was not intended to “offend anyone”.

“My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means!!! That was me then… that is in the past!!! I don’t like the headlines I am reading… that’s exactly why I quit the business four years ago!!! Most of the book is from 20 years ago… I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here,” she wrote.

The pop star continued: “I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life!!! Either way, this is the last of it and s**t happens!!! This is actually a book I didn’t know needed to be written… although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future!!! Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood”.

She concluded: “Again, my motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences. I have moved on since then!!! #TheWomanInMe.”
