The tweet read: “Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed.
“We are working on rescheduling the dates so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows.”
This is not the only time this year that Bruce has pulled out of one of his concerts due to health concerns.
On March 9, the Nationwide Arena in Ohio announced that his show that night would not move forward.
They attributed the issue to “illness”, but did not specify further.
Following the canceled show in Ohio, two more cancellation announcements were made.
At the time Steven Van Zandt, took to Twitter to reassure fans he wrote: “No need to be anxious or afraid. Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon.”
Bruce has also suffered from some health issues in the past and he told Vanity Fair that he was unable to sing for three months due to surgery to alleviate some chronic numbness that he was experiencing in 2013..
When asked how he had felt, he said: “A little nerve-racking. But it’s been very successful for me.”
He has also opened up about his mental health battle in the past.
