Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Hemming has posted an emotional tribute to the Die Hard star on his 68th birthday.
The Hollywood actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia last month and since then his spouse has been opening up about her happy memories with him on social media.
Sunday night (March 19) proved no different as Emma, 44, took to her Instagram account to share a candid video of herself discussing her “sadness” and “grief”, before adding a heartfelt video montage of Bruce just hours later.

Addressing her 691,000 Instagram followers Emma said: “So today is my husband’s birthday. I have started the morning by crying. As you can see by my swollen eyes and snotty nose, I just think it’s important you see all sides of this.

“I always get this message or people always tell me like, ‘Oh you’re so strong, I don’t know how you do it.’ I’m not given a choice. I wish I was. But I’m also raising two kids in this.
“So sometimes in our lives we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it. And that’s what I’m doing. But I do have times of sadness every day. Grief everyday. And I’m really feeling it today on his birthday.”
Fighting back tears Emma added that she had been working on a clip that felt like a “knife in the heart”, but something she wanted to create for Bruce’s fans as well as herself.

And later in the day as promised she uploaded the reel in question – a compilation of Bruce having fun with members of his family.
Accompanied by background music in the form of Stevie Wonder’s ‘As’, Emma wrote: “He is pure love. He is so loved. And I’ll be loving him always [a reference to the song’s lyrics].
“Happy Birthday my sweet. My birthday wish for Bruce is that you continue to keep him in your prayers and highest vibrations because his sensitive Pisces soul will feel it.
“Thank you so much for loving and caring for him too.”

Fans were quick to offer comforting words with one responding: “No matter what this cruel disease takes away, he will always be your husband, he will always be the father of his children and he will always be an on screen hero to many millions of people across the world – hang in there, you are not alone.”
Another wrote: “Happy Birthday Bruce. Beautiful reel Emma. Feel the love. Always. Thank you for sharing him for us.”
A third commented: “I am so touched by YOU and the love you pour into every day of taking care of your husband. Happy birthday Bruce! What a warrior you are! Sending nothing but prayers and love!”
And a fourth added: “I had only seen your husband in a couple of pretty serious action roles when I caught him on a late-night interview…and he was so light-hearted and charming!
