Cardi B has shared her reaction to a video of the Dalai Lama asking a young boy to suck on his tongue going viral.

A controversial video of the religious figure has sent the internet into a frenzy as the 87-year-old was heard asking a boy to suck on his tongue during a public event after the boy requested a hug from the prominent leader.

Cardi, 30, was amongst thousands of social media who reacted to the controversial video as she claimed that “the world is full of predators”.

The 30-year-old rapper — born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar — told her millions of followers in a tweet: “This world is full of predators. They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children.

“Predators could be our neighbours, our school teachers, even people with money, power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.”

Following the international backlash received from the video, the spiritual leader has apologised for his comments.

It comes after the Tibetan spiritual leader was giving an announcement in an unidentified place when a young boy, seemingly aged around 11, asked from the crowd, “Can I hug you?”

He was invited up onto the raised platform and embraced the religious figure before the 87-year-old kissed him on the lips.

He then pulls the child in again and rests his head against the youngster.

When they break apart again the Dalai Lama puts out his tongue and says, “suck my tongue”.

Following the uproar, a representative for the religious leader issued in a statement which simply said: “His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras. He regrets the incident.”

British TV personality Denise Welch replied to the tweet, writing: “The boy didn’t say ‘can I suck your tongue’. He clearly initially withdrew!!!”

Activist Rejimon Kuttappan wrote: “The boy asked for a hug. You asked the boy to suck your tongue. We all heard that. Why is it missing in your ‘apology’.
