In the piece he branded Carol a “anti-Tory, anti-sleaze warrior”, while complaining about Carol’s use of the term “disgusted” when talking about MPs.
Jeremy made a dig at Carol’s recent stint at the Women and Equalities Select Committee which saw her speak about the needs for women going through menopause.
She also criticised the Minister for Women’s Health, Maria Caulfield, for “not bothering to turn up” to discuss the topics.
Clarkson wrapped up his column with a reference to the term “absolutely disgusted”, writing: “That’s a bit strong, because if you’re ‘absolutely disgusted’ by someone who disagrees with you about the menopause, then how do you describe your feelings towards a Russian soldier who’s just lobbed a hand grenade into a school?
“Surely, that would be ‘absolutely disgusting’. Whereas someone who doesn’t share your view in a debate is mildly irritating.”
Reading his column the following day, Carol made sure she didn’t hold back when she fumed at him online.
She wrote: “Well well. The known defender of women’s rights. Jeremy Clarkson has a go at a woman again
“Jeremy love, if I am disgusted at MPs fibbing & not turning up as they are meant to do, then I’ll be “disgusted”. Glad you used a nice photo tho or I might have been “mildly irritated”.”
Her fans immediately rushed to support her comment, with Denise Welch writing: “What an absolute tool he is,” while a fan said: “How dare a woman be shouty, coming from a man who never knows when to stay quiet.”
Meanwhile, another person took note of the end of Carol’s tweet and wrote: “You really do look fabulous.”
Carol has brushed off the negativity from the article and has instead focused on the good news surrounding her as fans flock to support her return to I’m A Celeb.
She was confirmed to be taking part in the All Star series, set to air next month and continue into May.
