The star has also appeared in TV titles such as The Crown, Wallander, Doctor Who, and Prime Suspect.
Terrence, who was a Londoner, also narrated hundreds of audiobooks throughout his career.
This includes series by the likes of top authors including Colin Dexter, Anne Perry, and Ruth Rendell.
However, it was CBBC’s The Demon Headmaster that turned him into a household name.
The mid-1990s smash hit series featured Terrence as the terrifying head teacher who hypnotised students to enact evil schemes.
The popular TV show was based on the Gillian Cross books series.
During an interview with Radio Times in 2019, Terrence said about his role: “I thought, ‘What a horrible character. How lovely. A real villain of a piece. Why not?”’
The late star also shared that he has “no idea” the show would become such a success.
He added: “I started to be recognised in the street, especially as I lived near schools around here, in North-West London.
“And there were people – youngsters – looking at me, and shouting out at me, and making fun of me, which is very healthy. It stopped me being too grand!
“But then the slightly more remarkable thing, I found, was that it wasn’t just children who were watching. It was parents and other people, too.”
The late TV legend also reportedly returned to the hit CBBC series for a cameo appearance in 2019, when it was rebooted.
