Matt Hancock made a surprising confession to former TOWIE star James ‘Arg’ Argent about the Essex-based reality show.
The former Health Secretary is amongst the stars appearing on the latest series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and he was tasked with night duty during the latest instalment of the Channel 4 programme. The 44-year-old was assigned to the post with Arg, 35, who was left stunned when the conservative politician shared the revelation.

Striking up conversation during Sunday’s (October 1) episode, Arg quizzed Matt on aspects of his childhood, with the I’m A Celeb star explaining that he grew up in Cheshire. The TV personality then asked whether Matt knew where he was from, leading him to confidently respond: “Essex”.

Continuing the line of questioning, Arg then asked whether he had seen TOWIE, to which Matt responded: “Of course I have.” The TV star was clearly floored by the confession, and he wasn’t the only one.
Fans immediately swarmed social media to share their shock as one wrote: “My husband and I practically on the floor when Matt Hancock admitted he watches Towie.” A second viewer added: “Haha, Matt Hancock, watches #TOWIE!”

While a third exclaimed: “Matt Hancock said he watches Towie, and here I am in absolute hysterics.” Also starring on the gruelling reality series is Jermaine Pennant, who confessed he thoroughly enjoyed punching the ex-Tory MP during filming.
The pair were pitted against each other in a brutal fighting challenge by the show’s instructors. And Jermaine, 40, was determined not to lose to a man previously known as one of the most hated people in Britain.

The former professional footballer said: “I’ve never had a fight and I’m glad I wasn’t up against a woman. So I’m glad it was Matt Hancock. My first thought was, ‘Yes!’ After that it was, ‘Do not lose… if it’s rubbish it doesn’t matter, but just do not lose’. If I lost, I would not be allowed to walk the streets again. I was just very grateful that I won.”
Jermaine was certain the British public would be rooting for him to come out on top when the footage aired. He added: “In the back of my mind I knew the nation was behind me so I had to make them proud and made sure I won.”
