Celebs on The Chase handed easier questions as they’re ‘not as clever’, says Chaser

Celebs who go on The Chase get easier questions because they’re useless at trivia.

Producers fear they wouldn’t be able to cope with the ones used on the regular series.

Quizzer Shaun Wallace said: “The celebrity contestants get a slightly easier ride in terms of the questions.

“They are not too clever when it comes to answering… they’re not quizzers.”

Even when they are handed easier questions, a lot of the celebrity contestants fail to nab the jackpot.

Shaun, also known as The Dark Destroyer, added: “They want to win for charity – but sadly they don’t a lot of the time.

“As Chasers, we are determined to beat them just like we do on the regular show.” The celebrity version has been airing since 2011.

Over the years, The Family Chase and Beat The Chasers have also been big hits.

Shaun has teased that there could be another spin-off version of the show in the future.

He said: “We never, ever take our position as the top game show in the country for granted.

“That’s why we continue to work hard. We keep trying to reinvent ourselves and try to stay ahead of the game.”

Shaun has been a chaser on the show since 2009 and currently appears with fellow chasers Anne Hegerty (The Governess), Darragh Ennis (The Menace), Mark Labbett (The Beast), and Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman).

He recently revealed that he’d like to continue on The Chase as long as his bosses will have him.
