Chilling furry horror film follows man who dresses as a dog – with horrific consequences

There’s a new brand of horror movie on the market, and it’s truly chilling.

Good Boy, released by Saban Films, delves into the world of furries – that is, people who dress up as and act like animals.

The new horror flick – also known as Me, You and Frank in the UK – follows a man who won’t be seen out of his dog costume and must be treated as a dog at all times, or else.

When main character Sigrid meets the handsome Christian, she thinks she’s found the love of her life. But after being initially charmed by her new love, she discovers a catch – he lives with a man who acts like his pet dog.

According to the official synopsis: “Trying to be open-minded, Sigrid continues the relationship but soon notices an insidious undertone to Christian. Maybe ‘puppy play’ isn’t as innocent as it seems”.

The official trailer for the Norwegian flick sees Sigrid falling for Christian, who immediately strikes up a red flag as he’s “counting calories” during a date, leading Sigrid to ask: “Are you a control freak?”

“No!” he snaps.

Later, the pair head to Christian’s place where he tells Sigrid he has a dog. During a romp, Sigrid shoots out of bed to see the very human puppy panting at the foot of the bed before delivering a bark.

Christian warns her: “It’s very important that you treat him like a dog. Do not treat him like a human, okay?”

He describes his roommate Frank as “someone who’s been through a lot” – but keeps him chained up in a cage and appears to feed him raw meat.

Things soon descend into absolute chaos as Frank’s dog eyes are spotted watching Sigrid through a crack in the door – and the film looks truly chilling, tapping into a very specific part of the uncanny valley.

The R-rated film has already been branded “twisted and unsettling” by critics.

Written and directed by Viljar Bøe, it stars Gard Løkke and Katrine Lovise Øpstad Fredriksen.
