While Ben Price is currently delighting fans as Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street, two actors played the role long before Ben stepped onto the cobbles.

Between 1981 to 1996, Warren Jackson played young Nick, before soap heartthrob Adam Rickett took on the role in 1997.

Adam later left the soap in 1999, before returning for multiple stints between 2002 to 2004, alongside his chart topping pop career.

His debut album, Good Times, was released in 1999 and reached number five in the UK album charts.

He later appeared on reality TV programme The Big Reunion in 2014 alongside fellow popstars including Dane Bowers and Gareth Gates.

However, Adam made a return to the soaps after taking on the role of Kyle Kelly in Hollyoaks between 2017 to 2020, and has appeared in stage productions such as Rent and Cinderella.

Away from the limelight, Adam married Good Morning Britain presenter Katy Fawcett in 2004.

In 2019, they also opened up an artisan bottle shop called Dexter & Jones in Cheshire.

The star also regularly updates his fans on social media, and recently warned them of the dangers of scams, after becoming a victim himself.

Taking to Instagram, the star revealed he had been scammed out of “tens of thousands of pounds,” and advised his followers to be extra cautious so they do not become victims themselves.

Sharing a video on his Instagram grid, he captioned the post: “CONFESSION TIME! I know a lot of people will laugh at me for this…but I want to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I got completely scammed this week by some fraudsters impersonating @barclaysuk.

It continued: “I know we all think we know what to do or how to react…but honestly I have never known the stress it created over the course of the scam…and now the embarrassment I feel.

“I can’t even begin to suggest how to protect yourself as I thought I was doing everything right… but please just be aware there’s people out there who know exactly how to play the system.”

Stephen Beckett (Dr Matt Ramsden)

Stephen Beckett’s heartthrob doctor Matt Ramsden caused quite a stir when he arrived on the cobbles in 2000, after he had an affair with Ashley Peacock’s wife Maxine.

Their one-night stand led to the pair welcoming a child together, but despite this, Ashley chose to stay with Maxine – while Dr Matt and wife Charlie left Weatherfield for good in 2002 following the fling.

However following Maxine’s murder in 2003, Stephen re-appeared in 2006 and tried to gain access to his estranged son – with Matt given visitation rights.

Stephen works as a voice actor and has appeared in theatre productions

Although Stephen Beckett has not returned to the cobbles since, his character has been mentioned on various occasions in the soap.

Meanwhile, along with his famous role as Mike Jarvis in ITV police drama The Bill, Stephen has appeared in Casualty, Doctors, Robin Hood, Holby City, Heartbeat and House of Anubis – to name a few.

He also works as a voice actor and recently lent his voice to video games including Star Wars Battlefront II, as well as continuing to act in theatre productions such as The Tempest.

Stephen is not the only famous star in his family either, as he married Emmerdale Tara Reynolds actress Anna Brecon in 2002 – with who he has two children called Nancy and Wilfred.

Ryan Thomas became an instant heartthrob on Coronation Street when he arrived as Eileen Grimshaw’s son Jason in 2000.

His character wooed a lot of residents during his time on the cobbles, including Candice Stowe, Tina McIntyre, Rosie Webster and Maria Connor (to name a few), along with Sarah Platt.

That’s not all, as his and Sarah Platt star Tina O’Brien’s chemistry spilled off-set and they became a couple in real life.

She and Ryan later welcomed a daughter called Scarlett in 2008, but sadly split up just over one year later, with Tina telling New magazine: “He said he didn’t love me any more.

“He said I didn’t do it for him any more. Those were his words. I was absolutely devastated. He said he didn’t want the responsibility of a relationship with me.

“Ryan can be a very loving and nice guy, but he can also be laddy. He was keen to go out a lot,” she added.

However, the couple have tried to keep things good between them for their daughter, and Ryan was even at Tina’s wedding to Adam Crofts in 2018, with Tina saying to The Mirror: “It helps that everyone has moved on and is in a happy place. Ryan is really happy and we are happy, so there aren’t any issues.

“For the sake of Scarlett, it has been well worth preserving [our relationship] and choosing our battles.”

While taking part in another TV programme, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, Ryan met TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh and they have been in a relationship since 2017.

Together they have two children.

Adam later launched his own bar called The Spinn in Gatley, alongside his friend Scott Graham, where Ryan has helped him out as a delivery driver on occasions.

Ryan shared a video on social media of himself outside the bar and restaurant, as he joked with fans that he “might be coming to a home near them.”

‘I’m just waiting outside The Spinn to pick up my next delivery. Make the call, you know you want to. I might be coming to a home near you,” he said.

That’s not all, as he recently played Saul Silva in The Winx Saga and appeared in 2023’s Brave Creatures.

Rob could be heard saying: “I’m just gonna read what he told me to say in response to the question, “Why should people watch Fate: The Winx Saga”?

He continued to explain that Milo said: “First point, ‘It’s about fairies, innit?’ That’s his first point. Second point from Milo was, ‘It’s just like Harry Potter with an American twist.'”

Rob then joked: “Thanks a lot Milo, no birthday presents for you! Useless! He’s getting nothing after that, he should have said something insightful!”

One of the most recent heartthrobs to arrive on Coronation Street was Charlie De Melo as lawyer Imran Habeeb.

He soon fell in love with and married Toyah Battersby in 2022, but their romance was short-lived after Imran had a one-night fling with Abi Franklin.

After Abi considered leaving the cobbles with their baby, Imran tried to persuade her not to, but in a haste to stop Toyah from going to the police, the pair were involved in a car crash.

Imran suffered a cardiac arrest following the crash and tragically died not long afterwards in the soap.

During his time on the soap, Imran actor Charlie had a sweet relationship with co-star Nicola Thorp, who played Nicola Rubenstein – after forming a close friendship more than a decade before.

Away from the limelight, Charlie regularly shares sweet snaps on Instagram of him and his adorable golden retrievers Sarah and Toni.

He also revealed to fans that their pups have gone on to become trainee guide dogs, as he captioned one snap: “Goodbye, babies. I’ll miss you all very dearly. Time for you to go out into the world and do some real good, just like guide dog Yogi and your other half brothers and sisters.”
