EastEnders fans spot ‘clue’ Ian Beale is Christmas murder victim as he returns to soap

EastEnders fans believe that returning resident Ian Beale could be the Christmas murder victim after spotting what could be a subtle clue to his demise.

Ian (Adam Woodyatt) is making a big return to Albert Square this week alongside his wife Cindy (Michelle Collins).

Fans haven’t seen Ian since he fled Walford in January 2021 after his rival Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) tried to poison him.

But some fans think Ian could be the dead body lying on the floor of the Queen Vic on Christmas Day.

Fans have been clambering to find out the identity of the mystery man killed off in what appears to be a grisly murder scene.

“What if the suit of armour in the flash forward represents… Cindy (AKA Rose Knight) and the body is Ian? It’s my back-up theory anyway.”

Another said: “It’s going to be IAN on the floor at Christmas with the #cufflinks after an accidental hit or a heart attack. I also reckon he walks Sharon down the aisle. @bbceastenders #IanBeale.”

A third wrote: “Ian is the dead body at Christmas I just feel it in my bones.”

A fourth commented: “Could you imagine if it was Ian killed at Christmas.”

The shocking scenes teased earlier this year show Sharon (Letitia Dean), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Denise (Diane Parish), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) standing over a dead body.

A distressed Sharon could be seen wearing a wedding dress and kneeling over the victim and pronouncing: “He’s dead.”

Upcoming scenes show Ian bumping into Sharon and Phil, who makes it clear he wants Ian gone again.
