EastEnders legend Danny Dyer revealed the eye-watering sum he spent on his lavish Maldives holiday following his BBC exit.

Speaking to The Sun, the London-born actor confessed it was a “reward” for working around the clock during his final year on the legendary soap.
He told the publication: “It cost £140,000. Best holiday we’ve ever had. It was a reward for the last year, which was one of the busiest I’ve ever had.
“It was an horrific shooting schedule. The trip was a complete extravagance but then why do you earn money?”
The star went on to reveal that the main reason he left EastEnders was because he was sacrificing precious time with his family for the show, which only allows one holiday a year.
The dad-of-three continued: “One reason I left EastEnders was because I wasn’t around enough.
“You’ve got to try and get in there early with your holiday, because otherwise they give you a holiday in February, and who wants to go on holiday in February?”
He also told The Times Magazine that six years ago he jetted out to South African for rehab to face his drink and drug demons.

The star confessed: “I flew to Cape Town six years ago today. I was a lost soul” but he reassured fans it wasn’t as glamorous as it seemed.
He explained there was “no crisp white bedlinen or any of that b***” but instead claimed he slept in a dorm and “scrubbed the khazis.”
It’s fair to say that fans of the BBC One soap have greatly missed the staple character on the Square, with viewers regularly demanding the actor to return to the show.
