Sharing a selfie with Steve McFadden, 63, who plays Phil Mitchell on EastEnders, the duo cosied up and smiled for the camera with Tower Bridge behind them.
Over the top of the snap, Cheryl wrote: “With my big brov. Yes folks it’s Mr Steve McFadden”.
And in the caption she touchingly penned: “Thank you for always caring for me and my family and for being so hospitable”.
Fans quickly flocked to the comments section to gush over the sweet photo, with many becoming “emotional”.
“This is beautiful and the most beautiful little sister and big brother ever,” penned one fan of the duo.
Another simply wrote: “Two legends,” while a third said: “Brilliant photo.”
“Emotional. Phil and Heather. Never thought I’d see you two together again,” penned a fourth.
While a fifth said: “Awww what a lovely pic of you two.”
And a sixth commented: “Isn’t this just so lovely. Keeping in touch.”
Cheryl starred on EastEnders as Heather from 2007 until 2012 when she was killed off, although made a comeback cameo in 2016.
In the soap Heather was best pals with Shirley Carter, who was in a romantic relationship with Phil at the time.
Heather had a child, George Trott, who was named after George Michael, with teenager Darren Miller.
When Heather departed Albert Square in 2012, she was killed off by Phil Mitchell’s son Ben, who hit her over the head with a photo frame.
The cameo she made in 2016, four years after her passing, saw Dot Branning find a mixtape in the launderette, which was made many years earlier by Heather and Shirley.
The mixtape featured their voices and several Christmas songs.
