EastEnders’ Jessie Wallace – who plays Kat Slater in the hit BBC One soap opera – looks almost unrecognisable from her role after undergoing a hair transformation.
Jessie took to Instagram this week to show off her new look, with her looking worlds away from he much-loved character.
The 57-year-old Enfield-born soap starlet could be seen posing for a selfie with her donning shorter hair than usual.

Although the Kat Slater actress is known for her jet black choppy shoulder-length style, the new look appeared to be a little sleeker and with the addition of a side fringe.
As she posed up a storm for the snap to show off her new look, Jessie also donned some thick-rimmed glasses – which really aided in her looking very different to how EastEnders fans know her.
In the snap Jessie could be seen wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt with the band name “Nimmo” on the front.
“Rocking my new t-shirt from the coolest band @nimmonimmo and my new cut by the scissor-hands magician @linocarbosiero,” Jessie penned in the caption to notify her fans of her new look.
Fellow EastEnders co-star Bobby Brazier took to the comments section to brand Jessie a “rockstar”, while other pals and fans also showered her with compliments.
“Wow loving the hair,” penned one fan, while another wrote: “I love your new haircut and glasses! You look great!”
A third person gushed: “My absolute crush,” while a fourth asked: “Is Kat taking on this new look or will you be wearing a wig for now?”

While a sixth person gushed: “Beautiful and very chic.”
And a seventh added: “Sexy as usual.”
Jessie is best-known for portraying the role of Kat Slater on the BBC soap opera EastEnders on and off since 2000.
Aside from EastEnders, Jessie made a guest appearance as Kat Slater in the 2005 French & Saunders Christmas special.
And in 2008 she competed in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing with Darren Bennett, with the couple getting axed in week four.
