EastEnders fans believe a new romance is on the cards for Alfie Moon after he is diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The loveable character, played by Shane Richie, headed to the hospital during Tuesday’s episode (August 15) after an altercation with his son, Tommy.
After the nurse found blood in Alfie’s urine and did a CT scan, he was shocked when the doctor explained it could be an indication of prostate cancer.

Alfie’s fears were confirmed during the following instalment of the soap and while he later revealed all to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Alfie begged him to keep his health battle a secret.
Following the devastating news, fans are convinced Alfie will turn to Linda (Kellie Bright) and a romance could blossom between the pair.
One viewer speculated: “Idk but I feel like because Alfie thinks he might be dying, he’s gonna adapt that “only live once” mindset and go for Linda?”
“I love the Alfie x Linda friendship so much but I can’t help but hope they’ll become something more in the distant future,” echoed a second.

Another wrote: “Not what I usually post about but I’ve been thinking about this little moment between alfie and linda all day. I love them”.
A fourth speculated: “Wondering if Linda and Alfie could get together.. I hope so I think it could work”.
But others weren’t so keen on the idea, with many recognising that Alfie and Linda’s relationship is the perfect example of showing that men and woman can be just friends.

One fan wrote: “Also just to add on Alfie’s story – I’m so glad that the writers remembered Alfie and Linda’s friendship. That little scene they had tonight was lovely. I hope that Linda forms a key part of Alfie’s support system as the storyline gathers momentum”.
“Love Linda & Alfie’s friendship so much. Linda really brings the best out of Alfie. I hope they continue to support each other as friends,” added a second.
