EastEnders’ Sharon ‘distraught’ as she makes dangerous decision to protect Keanu

EastEnders star Letitia Dean has revealed Sharon goes to extreme lengths to protect her family in upcoming scenes.

Next week, Keanu (Danny Walters) turns to Ravi (Aaron Thiara) and agrees to transport drugs for him in a bid to earn money to support Albie.

But things don’t go to plan as the police arrive at Albie’s christening and arrest Keanu for intent to supply.

Livid at the deal going wrong, Ravi makes a secret phone call before taking revenge on Keanu.

Spotting an unconscious Keanu on the ground, Phil (Steve McFadden) calls an ambulance as Sharon watches on in horror.

Opening up on how Sharon feels in that moment, Letitia explained: “She’s distraught. Sharon has lost so many people in her life so all of those emotions come flooding back.

“The possibility that her happiness might be ripped away again is crushing and she absolutely breaks at the sight of an unconscious Keanu.”

As Sharon sits with Phil in the waiting room, the 55-year-old explained that Sharon leans on Phil for support, despite their complicated history.

“Sharon and Phil have such a rich history between them and despite all of their flaws, she knows she can trust him and vice versa,” the actress explained.

She added: “Even though their marriage broke down, there is still a mutual respect for one another and I don’t think that will ever change. I love working with Steve so it’s always lovely when I have scenes with him.”

While with Phil, Sharon shares her theory that Ravi is responsible for the attack on Keanu before she threatens to report the dodgy restaurant owner to the police.

Sharon then makes a huge decision in order to protect her family, one which will no doubt come back to haunt her.

Letitia, who has played Sharon since 1985, revealed that, despite the danger, Sharon doesn’t regret her decision.

“I’m sure Sharon has many regrets in her life, but this isn’t one of them! She’s fiercely protective of her family and will stop at nothing to make sure they’re safe,” the soap star said.
