EastEnders spoilers: Lily baby bombshell, Zack breakdown and Mick showdown

The new year kicked off with a bang and the drama continues in EastEnders next week.

Zack prepares for the tasting at Walford East and pretends to be confident.

As Suki and Nish head to the restaurant, they overhear Chelsea talking about Zack deserting Whitney and the baby.

Although it starts well, Zack is rattled by Suki’s disapproval regarding Whitney.

When he smashes a glass and cuts his hand, he loses it and storms out, later realising he needs to face up to things.

Whitney heads off to her baby scan with Chelsea, Felix, Finlay and Sonia, and Zack sees them go from afar.

Zack is desperate to know the results of the baby’s tests and asks Sonia.

This gets back to Whitney, who wonders if she should give him another chance.

Whitney is a bag of nerves after getting a text from the clinic, so Zack offers to support her as she opens it.

She thanks Zack but tells him it’d be best if he kept his distance now.

Meanwhile, a guilty Denise is determined to close down whatever is going on with Ravi.

When she goes to see him and tells him he’s got the wrong idea, a flirty Ravi isn’t so sure Denise is being honest.

Later, he drowns his sorrows at Peggy’s and flirts with Chelsea.

Ravi swoops in to help Chelsea with a heavy delivery, and she invites him for a ‘thank you’ drink at The Vic.

And after spotting Denise, Ravi agrees.

The pair flirt up a storm and when Ravi walks Chelsea home, they arrange date two.

Denise isn’t happy with Ravi and when goes to confront him about using her daughter, Ravi makes it clear that he’ll date whoever he likes.

Chelsea asks Denise to watch Jordan so she can go on a date with Ravi.

When he bumps into Denise, she warns him off Chelsea once again.

Chelsea tries to lure Ravi into No.1 for a ‘drink’.

As the Slater money troubles worsen, Alfie hits the jackpot when he overhears Denise has keys for The Vic.

Alfie gets Patrick to help him swipe them as he wants to reopen the pub to help Linda.

Denise is horrified to discover The Vic full of customers and Alfie behind the bar.

He insists he’s doing this for Linda, but Denise isn’t happy – and things take a turn for the worse when Mitch lets slip that Patrick is handing out free drinks.

Denise demands that Patrick gets everyone to pay up, or else.

Alfie hits upon the idea of throwing a summer party in The Vic to banish the January blues and get the tills ringing.

When Kim tells Sharon that The Vic is open, she makes a call.

Things are going brilliantly in the bar, and Alfie thinks he’s hit the jackpot until Linda bursts in.

Sharon takes Annie and Ollie back to hers as a distraught Linda accuses Alfie and the rest of their neighbours of not caring that Mick is dead.

Later, Alfie gathers Mick’s friends to surprise Linda with a vigil in the bar for her lost love, but it’s interrupted by the police.

Lola excitedly asks Kim to be her Maid of Honour and a thrilled Kim says yes and starts planning the hen party, but Jay worries it’ll all be too much for Lola.

With the topic of the wedding, Ben’s upset Jay hasn’t asked him to be best man, but Jay thinks Ben already knows he’s got the job.

When Kim is organising the guest list for Lola’s hen, she inadvertently touches a nerve when asking about Lola’s mum.

Later, Lexi also asks about Lola’s mum and why she left, but soon becomes clear that even Lola doesn’t have the answers.

Lola talks to Jay about finding her mum, but he remains sceptical that it’s a good idea, while Sharon warns her to take things slow.

Meanwhile, Billy is wondering what to get Lola as a wedding present and hits on the perfect idea.

Elsewhere, a desperate Martin begs Stacey to support him in talking Lily into having an abortion, but she refuses.

Having spoken to oblivious Whitney about motherhood, Lily comes home and says she’s made a decision.

Ricky gets custody of Scarlett and makes plans to return to Germany.

As Sam considers what she really wants in life, will she head abroad to start a new life with Ricky?
