EastEnders viewers all say same thing as Lola’s laid to rest in emotional funeral scenes

EastEnders fans were overcome with emotion on Tuesday’s episode (June 27th) as Lola Pearce was finally laid to rest.

Lola’s funeral saw Albert Square’s residents come out in force to celebrate Lola’s life as her coffin was carried in by Jay, Ben and Billy.

One scene in particular saw her young daughter Lexi dub her mum her “hero” as she played an emotional video montage.

Ahead of the funeral Billy was nowhere to be seen. Phil and Jay managed to track him down at Jamie’s graveside, where he was wracked by guilt and heartbreak for all the people he had lost in his life.

After a heart-to-heart with Phil and Jay, they convinced him to attend the funeral.

As the ceremony continued, Emma arrived at the side of the crematorium with a bouquet of flowers but left when prompted by Honey to sit, as she struggled to deal with her emotions.

Elaine and The Knight’s busily prepared for Lola’s wake, while a guilty Anna struggled to keep quiet about her mum and attempted to reveal everything to Gina.

However, her sister stopped her and insisted she didn’t want to know, unaware of the bombshell Anna was hiding.

The residents of Walford returned to The Square for a celebration of Lola’s life, just as Lola had wished.

A fatigued Jay retreated to No.18 to record a final live stream on her channel, thanking her followers for their support.

Billy watched on and gifted him with a memory stick containing the montage Lexi had made for the funeral, but with one extra video on it – it was of Lola on the day of the Coronation, discussing her feelings for Jay.

Jay was heartbroken as he struggled to imagine a world without his beloved Lola.

Contemplating how precious life is, Whitney asked Zack to move into No.1 with her, and he accepted.

Elsewhere, Suki and Ravi threatened to hurt Felix unless Finlay left the Square for good.
