Pop beauty Ellie Goulding has broken her silence after being struck by a firework during a concert last weekend.
The 36-year old was on stage at Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival on Sunday (August 27) when the horror incident occurred.
Performing her latest single, Miracle, the songstress took a blow to the face after a pyrotechnic machine blasted her from close range.

Ellie could then be heard screaming “f***” as she moved to the opposite side of the stage clutching her face, but was still able to complete her set.
Video footage of the mishap was shared on TikTok afterwards prompting an outpouring of concern from her loyal followers.
However, Ellie has now moved to allay their fears by taking to her Instagram account with a message of reassurance.
“To those asking I am ok!” she wrote.
“Pyro didn’t hit me in the face. Face is intact. Love you thank you,” she added, followed by a firework emoji.
Next up for Ellie is another festival performance later this month – Germany’s Superbloom – before she embarks on a series of headline shows across the UK and Europe.
Earlier this year she outlined her intention to Rolling Stone to make the tour a carbon-neutral venture.
“I am trying to make my tour carbon-neutral, and you know how hard that is?” she asked. “It’s pretty hard. And really, it’s encouraging venues to make that possible for us because they can’t always equip us with that.
