Elton John admitted he bought a tram after a three-day cocaine bender – and it seems he still owns it to this day.
The legendary Rocketman singer released his autobiography, Me, in October in 2019 and now passages from his memoir have now resurfaced with fans online.
One fan took to Twitter with a snap of a rather interesting excerpt from the bestselling book following Elton’s headline set at Glastonbury Festival on Sunday (June 25).

They wrote: “I often think about Elton John’s memoir.”
In his book, Elton, 76, details the time where he learned that he’d splashed out on a Melbourne W2 class combination tram the night before.
He wrote: “I really don’t recommend going shopping in the depressing aftermath of a three day cocaine binge.
“Unless you want to wake up the next day confronted by bags and bags filled with absolute crap you don’t actually remember buying.
“Or, in my case, you wake up the next morning to a phone call informing you that you’ve bought a tram. Not a model tram. An actual Tram.
“A Melbourne W2 class drop-centre combination tram, that the voice at the end of the phone is now informing you has to be shipped from Australia to Britain.
“Where it can only be delivered to your house by hanging it from two Chinook helicopters.”
The fan then shared a birds-eye snap of what appeared to be the tram sitting in Elton’s garden, alongside the tweet: “the tram is in his garden and used as an office – I can’t.”
This comes after The Candle In The Wind recording artist confirmed that he won’t be playing in the UK again in an emotional post after headlining Glastonbury.
The 76-year-old music icon took to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night (June 25) and blew away a massive crowd and the rest of the nation with his epic headline set.
In January in 2018 he would be retiring from touring, but just hours after his jaw-dropping Glastonbury set, he released new music, which some fans took as an indication he was going to return with more UK shows.
But Elton took to social media with heartbreaking news, confirming that his Glastonbury headline set was indeed his final UK performance.
On his official Instagram account, he wrote: “Thank you, Glastonbury!
“The energy last night was like nothing else, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the crowd and the people watching at home for all your love and support. You will be in my heart and soul forever.”
Elton added: “UK, what a farewell. I love you,” before adding a waving emoji and a union flag emoji.
