Emma Bunton told to ‘shut up’ on air after host has uncontrollable coughing fit

Sunday Brunch experienced some hiccups this morning as host Tim Lovejoy began choking, sending him into an uncontrollable coughing fit live on air.

Tim was in the kitchen with Simon, who was showing off a black pudding jam that he’d found online.

However, it wasn’t long before Tim seemed to be choking on something, and coughing.

Later in the segment, Simon began showing the audience how to make fish soup, but was interrupted by Tim who was still coughing.

“You alright now?” said Simon

Tim responded: “No I’m not, I’m going to blame hayfever.”

The presenter continued trying to hold in his coughing until the ad break, returning back to the set afterwards as his normal self.

However, it wasn’t long before Emma Bunton was told to ‘shut up’ by fellow singer Sharleen Spiteri.

Sharleen and Maisie Peters were discussing their upcoming gigs at Glastonbury, when Simon and Tim began telling them the weather forecast for their show times.

Unfortunately for Sharleen, the weather appears to be forecast for light showers during her performance time, which she said she’d rather not be the case.

However, Emma Bunton took a cheerier approach, saying that she likes dancing in the rain.

Meanwhile, the hosts said it would be ideal weather as the crowd wouldn’t get too hot for Sharleen’s performance.

Yet Sharleen was quick to snap back telling Emma and the hosts to ‘shut up’.

“You enjoying dancing in the rain from the side of the stage,” she said to Emma, referencing the likelihood that the former Spice Girl would probably have backstage passes rather than be in the pit with the public.

The full line up of today’s guests included Sharleen Spiteri, Emma Bunton, Arian Nik, Nina Wadia, Josh Pugh, and Maisie Peters.
